Biography
David has been working as a dj for eight years. Having
always had a passion for collecting music he realized a great
way to fund his addiction would be to become a dj. As a pioneer
of the Urban scene north of the border he was one of the first
to host regular rnb, hip-hop nights in Scotland.
As an in demand dj David can be found regularly all over the
country at some of the most distinguished hot spots. Aberdeen
is where he resides and maintains a couple of regular residencies.
However over the last couple of years here are some of the
places he has played in: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Dundee,
Newcastle and London.
Further afield David has also dj-ed in Minneapolis at the
city's hottest RnB club South Beach. As well as regular nights
in Barcelona's Jamboree. This summer has also presented a
few new travel opportunities with David making his first appearance
at Zakinthos at Mangos and also Bootycall in Athens. Not forgetting
a recent appearance at Shooters and the Vaults in Dublin as
well as Platform in the Faroes and Club 23 in Switzerland.
Other recent highlights include playing at the MTV breakout
/ Sean Paul after party alongside some of Scotland’s
finest dj’s and mc’s. Definitely a night to remember
with Pharell, Chingy, Cecile and
MR Vegas on the
floor and Missy popping up in the booth to perform her new
track unexpectedly.
Besides club work David also hosts workshops and dj classes
around Aberdeen working closely with the local council and
the Give Kids a Chance initiative to provide the youth with
taster sessions and development in turntable tuition. He also
writes for Blues and Soul magazine compiling the clubbing
and gig guide section for the country as well as covering
concerts and festivals freelance.
If you wanna catch David in the mix tune in to Steve Aggasild’s
Northsound 1 radio show every Friday night from 10-1am. The
30-mix mix goes out around midnight.
