This would have to be my entire season in Ayia Napa in 2001.
I'd played out for a year before that, however landing a residency
at the club with the best promotions alongside the best DJ's
& MC's was a great experience. It taught me a lot about
playing to a large crowd and how to read them, as well as
learning techniques from the leading DJs in the scene!
Most Memorable Gig
Playing at open-air venue Escape Beach Club in Northern
Cyprus. I arrived to see fireworks overhead, that were let
off from the sea, and a huge crowd of dancing people. You
can't get much better than that... I started to play... then
there was a power failure!! Of course everyone thought it
was my fault...

Biography
Anna Kiss has always had a passion for music and radio. Having
collected vinyl through most of her youth, her first airing
was a weekly college radio show aged 17.
By 2000 she was playing out locally in West London and landed
a spot on pirate station Life FM. She soon moved to Freeze
92.7FM where she held a prime-time Saturday night show for
over 5yrs.
Anna is renowned for her professional presenting skills, playing
exclusive tunes and being joined regularly by well-known guest
MC's. She pioneered interviews on the pirate airwaves, giving
many up-n-coming producers their first radio exposure. Guests
included: Delinquent, Duncan Powell, Mr. Bumpy, Little Charlie,
Scandalous Unltd, Misty Dubs, Teller, Sparks and Kie, Sharky
P, Ultra and Lady Destiny.
Anna has worked 3 summer seasons in the UKG holiday-hotspot
Ayia Napa. Her first year being 2001, where she quickly landed
a residency at the legendary Gas Club with the biggest names,
as well as doing the pre-parties at the busy Volt Bar. She
was also a regular fixture at the Insomnia after-party and
the Nissi Bay Beach parties.
December 2002 saw Anna win 1st prize over 7 other DJ's at
a Bar Med DJ competition. Soon after she was offered a weekly
show on award winning internet station www.majorfm.com.
She returned to Ayia Napa again in 2003 where she freelanced
at many clubs playing her varying music tastes, broadcasting
the recordings weekly on Major FM.
After her return to the UK a string of national and international
bookings followed, she travelled to Germany, Malta, USA and
Poland. She also started delivering DJ courses for London's
Point Blank (Award winners of DJ Magazine's Best DJ Courses
2002-5) and also for the London Borough of Hillingdon and
Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead's Youth Services.
In 2004 Anna came 5th in the 'Best Female DJ' category at
the Sidewinder People's Choice UK Garage Awards. She did not
ask anyone to vote for her, so was very happy with this achievement.
2005 saw another return to Cyprus where she played many other
towns on the island, in addition to Ayia Napa. Since more
overseas bookings have followed into 2006...
Currently Anna is on legal radio - she does a weekly show
for Cyprus' leading station Dance 95.5FM. She plays around
the UK and the world, in addition to working in the studio
on lots of new beats
